Pipe Bending Services
Pipe Bending Services
At Pipe Processing Technical Institute (Pipe Processing TI), we specialize in precision pipe and tube bending services tailored to meet the needs of demanding industries such as automotive, agriculture, and heavy-duty equipment.
With over 75 Years of experience and a wide range of in-house tooling, we offer flexible bending solutions for pipes of various diameters and wall thicknesses — from tight-radius exhaust tubing to large, sweeping structural curves. Whether you’re producing prototypes or high-volume parts, our facilities in Japan, the U.S., and Vietnam are equipped to deliver with speed and precision.
How Pipe Wall Thickness Changes

Stress Diagram in Pipe Bending
You need to take several factors into consideration for pipe bending such as bending radius, materials (esp, SUS, high-tensile steel plates, etc.), and more.
| Pipe Bending Methods | How Pipe Wall Thickness Changes |
|---|---|
| Press Bending | Conventional (no bending technique used) |
| Roll Bending | Conventional (no bending technique used) |
| Compression Bending | Press Bending |
| Draw Bending | Stretch Bending |
| Stretch Bending | Stretch Bending |

Compression Bending
What happens to wall thickness in press bending
A pipe is bent while being pressed. This method works well for materials that are hard to expand, as the outside tensile force is small. It’s also suitable for thin-wall or small-radius bending. However, wrinkles may occur due to compression on the inside, making adjustment difficult.

Draw Bending & Stretch Bending
What happens to wall thickness in stretch bending
A pipe is bent while getting stretched. Wrinkles and springback hardly occur as the inside material of the pipe has less buckling. On the other hand, materials that are hard to expand may fracture as the tensile force outside of the material gets bigger.
Types of Pipe Bending We Offer
At Pipe PTI, our pipe and tube bending services support a wide variety of materials and specifications to meet the demands of complex manufacturing and structural applications.
Supported Materials
We bend mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, chromoly, and other custom alloys with precision and consistency.
Pipe & Tube Sizes
From small-diameter tubing to large structural pipes, we accommodate a broad range of dimensions for both light-duty and heavy-duty projects.
Bending Tolerances
Our standard pipe bending tolerance is ±0.2 mm. For precision-critical parts, tighter tolerances are available upon request.
Custom Capabilities
With access to over 1,000 mandrel types and in-house jig and tooling fabrication, we can adapt quickly to unique part requirements and complex geometries.
